Open water hazards, unstable pool covers, and cracked decking are all potential dangers in backyards where pools are no longer actively maintained. A [pool to deck conversion](https://www.freedomdecks.net/) transforms your unused pool into a secure, level patio, reducing safety risks while increasing usable outdoor space. --- ## How a Deck Conversion Improves Safety A [deck over swimming pool](https://www.freedomdecks.net/) is designed to eliminate open water hazards while providing a solid, slip-resistant surface. Key safety improvements include: - - - **No Open Water:** Reduces drowning risks for children, pets, and visitors. - **Slip-Resistant Composite Decking:** Provides traction, even when wet, preventing falls. - **Even Surface for Walking:** Helps seniors and those with mobility challenges navigate safely. - **Sturdy Framing and Load Distribution:** Engineered to hold weight safely for family gatherings. --- ## The Proprietary System for Reliable Safety Our [proprietary bracket and wood frame system](https://www.freedomdecks.net/blog/how-freedom-decks-proprietary-bracket-system-works) is custom-built for each pool, ensuring stability and structural integrity.
